Why This Exists

I built this because
my family needed it.

I'm a stay-at-home father of five, including autistic twins. I was tired of watching families — my family included — navigate this without a real community behind them.

There's no team. No investors. No salary. Just one parent with 15 years of tech experience and a belief that if we build the right place, families will show up for each other the way they always do when it matters.

So I built nyceville — a village where families share what actually works, find real resources in their state, and advocate together for their children. Because no parent should have to figure this out alone.

Jamie Hollis

founder & sole developer by title — but really just a parent trying to help other parents

husband. father of five — including twins with Level 3 autism who are non-speaking. after more than 15 years in technology with Apple, Microsoft, and Samsung, Jamie stepped away to raise his family. when his twins were diagnosed, he saw firsthand how broken the system is for families navigating special needs — scattered information, toxic social media groups, and no single place that actually helps.

so he built one. Jamie combined over a decade of experience in tech operations with the knowledge that only comes from living this every day. nyceville is the result — 41 diagnoses, 50-state verified resources, and nearly 1,000 research-backed questions, all powered by the same Google Cloud and AI infrastructure he spent years working alongside.

the app covers what no other platform does because it was built by someone who needed it to exist.

AI isn't a feature we bolted on — it's the engine that makes the entire platform work. from the moment a parent asks a question to the moment a solution becomes parent-vetted, Gemini AI is working behind the scenes. and we're just getting started — an AI-powered solution matching engine is in development, bringing personalized results to every family based on their child's unique profile.

Gemini 2.5 Flash AI

Powers question categorization, semantic search term generation, and automatic solution tagging across all 41 diagnoses. AI is core to the product — not an add-on.

Firebase + Cloud Functions

Firebase Authentication, Firestore database, Cloud Storage, and 31 Cloud Functions (Node.js) handling real-time aggregation, moderation, and AI pipeline triggers.

Privacy-First Architecture
